How to use
This tool belongs to the “Merge & split” category.
- 1Merge: drop in several PDFs. The order in the list becomes the page order of the output; drag entries to change it.
- 2Split: page ranges such as 1-3,5,7-9, a fixed number of pages per file, one file per page, or odd and even pages separately.
- 3Long documents with an outline are best with "Split by bookmarks": tick the chapters and each becomes its own file. For double-page scans use "Split spreads", drag the red guide line and press "Apply to all pages".
Every PDF is handled in this tab by JavaScript. Files never leave your device and we keep no copy.
Frequently asked questions
Can I split a PDF without bookmarks by chapter?
No - that tool reads the outline stored inside the file. Note the first page of each chapter in a reader and split by page range instead.
Pages come out with mixed orientation or size after merging.
Merging only concatenates pages, it never resizes them. Fix the orientation first with "Rotate pages", then merge again.
What is the difference between merge and alternating merge?
Normal merge puts every page of A before every page of B. Alternating merge interleaves them A-B-A-B, which is what two single-sided scans of one document need.
